Going to visit Katie!

This afternoon me and Jamie are going to visit my friend Katie and her boyfriend in Selby, near York. We have been meaning to go for ages now and so glad we managed to get Mega bus tickets for nothing! So we’re heading to Leeds on the coach this evening and then getting the train to Selby. Never been on a trip so cheap before!

So I am obviously putting my blogging and Artwork on a stop for a few days, as Katie doesn’t have the internet at hers. I will still be sketching in my notebook, but will not be updating anything until next Thursday/Friday! Hopefully I will get some inspiration for some new doodles!

Can’t wait for this trip….. I miss Katie so much since she moved up North, and it’s so nice to be able to visit! You can still purchase my work off Etsy, and I will be able to send them off when I get back 🙂

See you soon!

Pregnant Monster Woman

Last night I had a dream that I was pregnant, as well as a couple of other girls who I didn’t know, and even though nothing was said in the dream, I felt they were all monsters! I think this had something to do with watching one of the latest episode of Supernatural ‘The Slice Girls.’

Drawing Something out of Nothing

Do you ever look at a random scribble and see something completely different?
Last night Jamie was drawing a (very) rough sketch of a pool table for his brother, and he left it on the Computer desk. When I saw it today I saw this cute little monster:

I wish I had taken a picture of the drawing before hand, but I didn’t think about it at the time!

Do you ever make little illustrations out of nothing?

Isabel Adonis; Artist of the Week

Tall Terraced Houses 2, by Isabel Adonis

Isabel Adonis creates beautiful and colourful original works of collaged art. I would describe Isabel’s work as vibrant, unusual, and whimsical, and like many of my other favourite artists, never fails to make me smile whenever I see a new piece. She has been successfully selling  her artwork for about 3 years, and it is all *very* reasonably priced for the effort she puts in and the amazing creation you get in return!

The reason I love Isabel’s artwork so much is that it reminds me so much of my own, yet it is so different. I think the way in which we think about our creations can be very similar at times, and it’s nice to have that connection with a fellow artist. We’re similar in a way in which we love to paint women, girls, flowers and houses ~ loads of things that are based around our first passions, our home life and the different feelings and vibes surrounding that.

If you would like to find out more about Isabel Adonis and her wonderful artwork, or purchase any of her paintings, you can ‘like’ her page on Facebook here or look and buy many of her artworks at ArtGallery.co.uk here.

Etsy Treasury; Spreading the Love

I haven’t made a treasury in a few days so I thought I’d make one today. I have dedicated my new treasury to some of the shops I have in my circle and members of the pcfteam. The reason I have done this is because I’ve been featured in so many treasuries in the last week, I’d thought I’d ‘spread the love’ back! I’ve gone for a yellow and teal colour them as it’s nearly Spring!

The Flowers Talk at Night; Art of the Week

For Art of the Week this week I have chosen a sold painting ‘The Flowers Talk at Night.’ It is 12×12 inches and painted on canvas. This particular painting was not textured with paper, only the flowers were textured using modelling paste.

I had not had this painting a week before it was snapped up and sold for a present for Christmas. I was glad that people saw my artwork good enough to give as gifts, and the person who received the painting was very happy with it!

It was a different design and style that I had tried just before the New Year and many people on my Facebook page loved it . I also sold a similar piece through ArtGallery.co.uk that I did in the same week! It’s a technique and style I hope to improve and use for future paintings to come. I have a couple called Midnight Blooms and Pretty Pink Haze that are similar.
