What’s been going on with Cally’s Creations?

Hi all!

I haven’t posted as regularly as I should, but I do find it hard juggling my blog along with Facebook, twitter, tumblr and Etsy. I hope that this will be changing now that I am attending Wolverhampton Uni to do Art and Design. My life is full of Art right now, so there’s rarely a time when I am not creating something new.

In my foundation year we have been asked to create an art journal through out the year. I have decided to dedicate myself to this, and to neverĀ rip a page out. Ever! This has been difficult for me in the past as although my artwork does get a lot of positive comments, like most artists I always feel like I can do better/ or that it isn’t good enough. I am not doing this any more. The one thing I have learnt while being at Uni is that you have to keep your progress. Even if you’re not a fan of what you have done, it’ll become useful to you one way or another in the future.

I have only been at Uni for a couple of weeks but already I have learnt a lot. I can’t wait to adapt the skills I am learning into Cally’s Creations. There’s a lot of places where my business needs to be polished up, and I am looking forward to making those changes and giving it everything I can.

I will be posting regular updates on my art journalling and progression as an artist, so stay tuned!

Getting Back into my Blog!

Hi all!

Recently I have been doing lots of art but unfortunately haven’t been using my blog. This is about to change! I am so glad to be getting back into my art and I am looking forward to posting regular blog posts on my new ideas/illustrations and artworks!

Here’s a couple of pieces I have been working on the last couple of months:

magical midnight meeting, painted on a large thin canvas

fairy floral bliss, painted on an upcycled wooden wall hanging

There are plenty more that you can see, which are available to purchase in my etsy store here.

~ Latest Paintings ~

I have been very busy today! After my long stretch of creative block I finally think I am getting out of it. I have painted a 16×16 inch canvas board that I textured a long, long time ago, and 2 9×11 inch thin canvases.

These two are textured with modelling paste and painted in acrylic and emulsion paints. All they need is a varnish and they’re finished! I have called them Twilight Blooms.

This is the painting I did on the canvas board (well, most of it!) I have painted two fairies in a flower garden. I am not yet sure what to call this piece.

They will be available to buy within the next couple of days! Now my mind has had a rest I hope to create a lot more pieces in the near future!

My items in treasuries

Today I have been featured in two treasuries – I haven’t really been featured in many treasuries, about 6 or 7, and I am so happy when my item gets chosen for one! Here are a couple of my items that have been featured…. (to view the treasuries just click on the images!)

Alien and Fairy friends meeting in the garden…. original canvas painting.

This is my newest painting Alien and Fairy friends meeting in the garden. I have textured a 12×12 inch canvas board with ripped paper, card and flower stencils and painted in acrylic, emulsion and watercolour paints. I based this painting on a doodle illustration I did a while back…
