Today I had a go at under the camera stop motion animation creating a piece of artwork. It was meant to be for my final piece in Animation at Uni, but I think I will count this one as a practice and have another go next week. Hope you enjoy!

I haven’t posted as regularly as I should, but I do find it hard juggling my blog along with Facebook, twitter, tumblr and Etsy. I hope that this will be changing now that I am attending Wolverhampton Uni to do Art and Design. My life is full of Art right now, so there’s rarely a time when I am not creating something new.
In my foundation year we have been asked to create an art journal through out the year. I have decided to dedicate myself to this, and to never rip a page out. Ever! This has been difficult for me in the past as although my artwork does get a lot of positive comments, like most artists I always feel like I can do better/ or that it isn’t good enough. I am not doing this any more. The one thing I have learnt while being at Uni is that you have to keep your progress. Even if you’re not a fan of what you have done, it’ll become useful to you one way or another in the future.
I have only been at Uni for a couple of weeks but already I have learnt a lot. I can’t wait to adapt the skills I am learning into Cally’s Creations. There’s a lot of places where my business needs to be polished up, and I am looking forward to making those changes and giving it everything I can.
I will be posting regular updates on my art journalling and progression as an artist, so stay tuned!

Hi all! I have been really busy the last couple of days making products to go in a new shop opening in Wolverhampton called The Shop in the Square. It is a new shop opening on Saturday 22nd of June selling handmade items from local start up businesses.
I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to have some of my creations in this shop amongst many other wonderful artists and crafters. I will be selling mini canvases, paper flower cards, paper flower magnets and gift tags. Here are a couple of my items going on sale Saturday:
These items will also be available to buy in my etsy shop soon so watch this space! 🙂

Last week I decided to start a project of painting up an old wooden bowl that was in our Shed, that my Dad gave to us before Christmas. The bowl is approximately 44cm in diameter. I began by painting vibrant shades of blues and green for the sky and grass.
I then started painting flowers of all colours and sizes on the grass and in the sky…
….And this is the final piece. I have yet to varnish it, however I have painted the back of the bowl a bright fuchsia pink and signed it. This piece of artwork, painted on a wooden bowl will be up for sale within the next couple of days on my Etsy page.
A close up for the flowers…
I have enjoyed doing this painting as it is the first for a while without feeling under pressure to create. I have a couple of new canvases I am hoping to do similar pieces on in the next few days!

The competition will run for a fortnight starting today (ending 15th of March), and the winner will be announced on this blog and my facebook page. I will chose the winner by randomly by picking a name out of a hat!
A bit more about the painting:
‘I love Balloons’ is an original canvas painting of 8x8x1.50 inches (painted on deep edge canvas, edges painted black.) I have textured the painting with ripped up card and paper, and painted it in acrylic and emulsion paints. The painting is of one of my happy patchwork girls in a garden on a sunny day, with her balloons.
Everyone is welcome to enter this competition.

I am currently preparing for my first craft fair of the year. It is being hosted by the West Midlands Crafters, a group I started last year for Artists and Crafters in the West Midlands area. It is the second one we are organizing, and hopefully will be a really successful event!
It is going to be held at the Light House (Old CHUBB building) in Wolverhampton on the 10th of March 2012, 10am to 4pm. For more information on the craft fair click here.
This is a picture of the first craft fair I did. I am currently working on some new mini paintings ~ some on canvas board and others on 10cmx10cm canvases. I am also going to be working on some Art Journals, affordable art prints of my sold original pieces and some laminated bookmarks.
I am really excited for this fair – there’s going to be so many amazing crafters there, in such an amazing venue! If you live local to me it would definitely be worth checking out!
