Tree of Happiness; Art of the Week

For this weeks ‘Art of the Week’ I decided to chose the first real piece of Artwork I ever sold. This means, a piece of Artwork that I sold to a total stranger! I sold this piece of artwork the beginning of March 2011 on ArtGallery.co.uk. I was over the moon that someone wanted to put a piece of my original work on their wall, and it boosted my confidence so much I decided to make my facebook page of Cally’s Creations. You could say it is thanks to selling this piece that I am where I am today.
Cally’s Creations has now been up and running for a year. Although I still have a long way to go with building my Art business, I am proud of how much I have achieved in such a small space of time. This piece of artwork ~ Tree of Happiness, will always remind me of this!

It was before I started texturing canvases. I have layered on pastel colours of acrylic and emulsion and glitter, painted a silhouette of a tree and decorated it with buttons.

I am hoping to do some similar pieces for my Etsy shop real soon!

Etsy Treasury; Catching f i r e

A treasury dedicated to The Hunger Games trilogy. I am nearly finished the 3rd book and it’s only taken me 5 days! I recommend reading them, but I’d get them read before the film comes out on the 23rd. Books are always better than the films.

Pregnant Monster Woman

Last night I had a dream that I was pregnant, as well as a couple of other girls who I didn’t know, and even though nothing was said in the dream, I felt they were all monsters! I think this had something to do with watching one of the latest episode of Supernatural ‘The Slice Girls.’

Etsy Treasury; Pretty Pink Haze

Today’s treasury was inspired by one of my own original canvas paintings called ‘Pretty Pink Haze.’ I wanted to do yet another colourful treasury, and include all items from the Promote Creative Friends team again. My personal favourite item out of all these ones are the Valentines vintage mini cards by SandrasCardShop.

This is the painting of mine that inspired me to do this treasury:

Finished ‘In Bloom’ Canvas Painting….

This is the finished piece of ‘In Bloom’ my newest mixed media canvas painting. I have varnished it with a glossy, protective finish and painted the canvas edges black to compliment the outlines of the butterfly and the flowers. This piece is inspired by Spring, and is certainly cheering me up in this awful cold weather! I just cannot wait for Spring to come!

I have also listed this piece of original artwork on my Etsy, which you can view here.
